A growing crisis in every community. Including ours.

Nearly one million households in the United States include an adult with a developmental disability living with and supported by an aging caregiver. In one out of every four of those homes the caregiver is over the age of 60. As those parents grow older, become ill, or pass away, their adult children face an uncertain and frightening future with nowhere to turn.

Today more than 700,000 people with developmental disabilities are on waiting lists for residential and community based services across the country. The average wait is over three years. For families in coastal Georgia the options are even more limited.

As the population ages and more families expect their loved ones to live in the community rather than institutions, the demand for supported living is growing faster than the system can respond. Corlane Village exists because that gap cannot wait any longer. Not in our community. Not anywhere..
